Dare Protoplay was at the Cairn Hall in Dundee last Friday to Sunday. I had a game being shown there – Castle Fearghas – as part of my Professional Masters in Games Development. I worked on it with a team of 9 others, and I’ll likely post a video of it here sometime over the next few days. It all went rather well. The game was playable from start to finish with very few major bugs. That said, there’s still a lot of polish needed but with three weeks to go that shouldn’t be a problem.
All in all I had a great time. I attended a few conference talks and played a lot of interesting games, never mind all the interesting people I met. If you didn’t make it this year then I’d definetely recommend it next year, even if it is unlikely that I’ll be showing anything there. You’ll just have to make do with a James-free Dare event. I’m sure you’ll all cope. 🙂
