Rigging fun!

When I started rigging I hated it. Nothing seemed to make any sense and the placement of various locators, joints, NURBS circles, etc. seemed arbitrary and designed to confuse me.

It’s not actually that hard. I just couldn’t grasp it. I’m getting to grips with it now though finally!

What’s been a huge help was my idea to basically log everything I do, note everything I learn and fill it with answers to every problem I overcome. It’s really helped me to get a grip on what it is I’m supposed to be doing and understand the “why” behind the actions I’m performing rather than just learning to repeat it.

I’ve not quite finished the arms by this stage. I’m almost there though. I’m writing this to take a break and stop myself feeling too burnt out. I’ll tackle the fingers then move onto making a nice animator-friendly wrist-twist thing.
